Mediclim Forecasts help reduce sickness related absenteeism from work

We have taken care to position ourselves as a tool that can be used to reduce health related absenteeism from work. In the long run we know this can only benefit employees and employers.

Here is some background information that speaks to the value of our initiative:

Utilizing similar research that underlies the Mediclim Index, but through a simpler and less personal approach, the German Federal Government has issued a form of weather related health forecasts since 1989. (Originally they used a single telephone line which, in its first year of operation, handled 1.9 million calls.) Germany still provides forecasts but through different routes. The current head of the meteorological dept that handles this told me that they are watching our effort with interest since our approach is so different from theirs.

The U.K. Met Office, through a time of great fiscal restraint (and that's putting it mildly) continues to maintain an analagous division employing over a dozen people, and has done so for several years.

Both these governments recognize that proper use of the weather forecast in health matters help the public and the companies that keep them in work.

In North America Mediclim Health Forecasts provide this service and we are expanding our efforts in this direction.

Weather and Virus

My flu virus has gone. Feeling more strength coming back, I am now able to night-cat again (Is it right to use the word night-cat as a verb in English?). Thanks to my doctor for his always so sure and forceful diagnosis and prescription and I always exactly folow his instructions for I knew nothing about medicine and have no other choices. Who said women nowadays are more empowered? In my opinion, doctors still enjoy the same final say. I also just got to know that flu virus has something to do with the weather. It is said last week everyone got sick due to flu virus (I do pray to God let us be sick especially for family doctors; if family doctors also get sick like us, then imagine who will look after us fragile patients?) Coming back to weather and flu virus. It is said this winter is too warm without enough snowing; especially recent warm weather has been so fluctuating that bacterials didn't get their deserved usual death sentence like previous winters. As a matter of fact, they are so active leading many people get sick almost all at the same time and showed up at doctors' office... So far, I have learned a lot through Mediclim.com website - weather not only affects humans body, it also affects virus growth and production of economic crops and fruit trees, etc. Gradually a little bit weather-conscious now, I consider myself a brand new pupil in medicine and weather fields with willingness to learn from MediClim website and from the people around me. My account now do look as I desired; however, I do love my old account best as it just represents me who always enjoy adventures and is willing to risk or to rise from the scratch or ashes...again thanks for your time and tolerance if errors exist here...my sincere best wishes to all and do take care in this fluctuating weather or climate...

Colour

I have to say, honestly here, that Weather and Medicine (whether eastern or western)are both very, very unchartered territory to me. But recently, I've found myself growing interested in these two areas and willing to read and learn about these two issues... But, as I enjoy reading and writing, I do have got something else to share here, i.e. colours. As we all can obviously see, the dominant or background color designed by and for MediClim.com is blue colour which gladly happens to be one of my favourite colours. It represents high blue sky which is very rarely seen nowadays in my home country; it also represents a person's broad-mindedness as wide as the sea; and, of course, to me, it as well represents a person's light-heartedness which implies joy and happiness, etc... Thanks to MediClim.com for having chosen such a beautiful and pleasant colour. And thanks for MediClim. com's great endeavour in helping people to keep their health and well-being. A bit shy by nature, this is my very first time to have courage to post a comment on a website. Hopefully, you would like what I put down here. Thanks and have a wonderful day... Phoenix
